Never mind the physical and psychological damage Tanya has suffered while fighting cervical cancer, because the impact on her family has been massive.
Daughter Lauren has turned into a promiscuous alcoholic and left home, while husband Max has almost been tempted into having an affair with Foxy Roxy Mitchell.
But at last there’s some good news when hospital tests show that Tanya’s now in remission. Her answer is to celebrate by taking an axe to the sofa she’s spent so much time on recently.

Ben strikes again
While the Corrie whodunnit rumbles on, there could be a miscarriage of justice in Walford. Wrongly banged up for the murder of Stella, Phil finally relents and agrees to see girlfriend Shirley – only to tell her that he’s going to plead guilty to manslaughter to get a reduced sentence.
As much as this is a contrived and unconvincing story, there’s only one person who can save Phil. And that’s his deranged son, Ben. While he resists pressure from Shirley to tell the truth, he does confess to brother Ian that he has told a pack of lies.
Although a visit to see Phil in prison doesn’t persuade Ben to come clean, perhaps Ian has more of a conscience than we give him credit for…
